Takav Gate is about 12 km from Siem Reap city. Takao Gate is one of the five gates of Angkor Thom, located on the west of Bayon Temple. The gate was built in the late 12th century.
Due to the age, the weather, and the growth of the trees, many parts of the gate structure and statues collapsed. The restoration work on the Takav Gate in the western part of Angkor Thom temple in the famed Angkor Archeological Park in northwest Cambodia’s Siem Reap province has been almost completed. Soon, the Takev gate will be renovated to be beautiful and ready to welcome national and international tourists again.
